Groups Commit To Montana Cutthroat Trout Conservation Efforts
Westslope cutthroat trout and Yellowstone cutthroat trout received a conservation boost recently that officials say will benefit Montana and #39;s state-fish for years to come. Earlier this month, the last of 18 groups signed on to an agreement to help carry out conservation and restoration efforts throughout the cutthroat trout and #39;s historical ranges in Montana.

Mountain Lion hunting Licenses On Sale Now
Mountain lion hunting licenses for Montana’s 2007 season are available at all Fish, Wildlife and Parks license providers, online at FWP and #39;s website , or through the mail. To hunt mountain lions in Montana, prospective hunters must either purchase a license or apply for a special permit, they cannot do both. A mountain lion license is not needed to apply for a mountain lion permit. A valid conservation license, however, is needed.

FWP Seeks Public Comment On Process To Replace Lost Or Stolen hunting Licenses
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public comment on a proposed new rule governing the replacement of hunting licenses and permits. A public meeting in Helena on the proposed rule is set for Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. at the FWP headquarters, 1420 East Sixth Ave. The proposed rule calls for a signed affidavit affirming that the license was lost, stolen or destroyed.

Snowmobile Advisory Committee To Meet In Helena
The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Snowmobile Advisory Committee will meet in Helena on Aug.15. The group will meet from 1-4 p.m. at the Super 8 Motel, 2200 11 th Ave. The committee, representing state snowmobile riders, was formed by FWP to review and recommend major equipment purchases such as trail groomers, other various snow treatment equipment and snowmobile programs for 27 Montana snowmobile clubs.
